Redundancy in DWDM networks

Redundancy is required for increasing reliability of a network and ensuring its operability when a fiber breaks or equipment fails, such as: transponders, optical amplifiers or other components.

Optical 1+1 redundancy

Redundancy is done via an optical switch, which allows switching to a backup channel in 10 ms! High performance ensures the error-free switching at client equipment.

At the transmission point a signal is optically divided in two directions. The receiving point choses the best signal.

Electrical 1+1 redundancy

Redundancy is done via the PUSK equipment units with two line ports, which allow switching to a backup channel in 10 ms!

Thee receiving point choses the best signal according to the number of errors.
