Demonstration of the first Russian DWDM-equipment at speeds of 40 Gb/s for the representatives of the Ministry of Communications

On August 16, 2010 in the laboratory “T8” for representatives of the Ministry of Communications and Mass Media was a demonstration of the first Russian DWDM equipment at a speed of transmission 40 Gb/s – aggregating transponder ATP-40-4 at a distance of 1000 km.

Work for a new transmission equipment at a speed of 40Gb/s is within the working group on Space and Communications.

Aggregating Transponder Unit (muxponder) ATP-40-4 combines 4 client signals OTU-2 into single flow of OTU-3 (43Gb/s) for transmission in DWDM system. Aggregating transponder has resistant to interference and PMD DPSK-modulation, performs 3R-regeneration and provides a redundant encoding FEC-signal. This transponder has a tunable wavelength laser for DWDM systems (space from 50 to 100 GHz).
