T8 at ICAIT 2023 Conference

On February 28 - March 1, T8 took part in the international scientific-technical and scientific-methodological conference "Actual problems of infotelecommunications in science and education" in St. Petersburg. The program of the event included a plenary session, an exhibition and the work of seven scientific areas.
Konstantin Marchenko, Deputy Director for Strategic Development of T8 LLC, spoke at the Plenary Session with a report “Russian Developers' Response to the Explosive Growth of Traffic in Communication Networks”.

“In 2007, the first 10 Gbit/s channel was launched on the St. Petersburg – Vologda section. For that time it was a real powerful event. Now there is a bandwidth of 1.2 Tbps. That is, in 15 years - an increase in traffic by 120 times. As you can see, the growth of transmitted information is enormous. Forecast traffic for 2030 is 257.1 GB/month per 1 person. In 2020, it was only 5.3 GB/month. Can you imagine what will happen to our transport networks? And all this traffic needs to be delivered from one point to another. T8 has equipment and solutions that can cope with this challenge of the time,” Konstantin Marchenko said.

In the exhibition area, T8 and the Faculty of Infocommunication Networks and Systems of St. Petersburg State University of Telecommunications demonstrated the training and research laboratory of High-speed Backbone Transport DWDM Networks basic department, designed on the Russian DWDM equipment "Volga" for interconnecting data centers, building backbone, regional and urban optical communication networks.

The ICAIT conference is organized with the support of the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation and the Government of St. Petersburg. The purpose of the conference is to comprehensively inform the community about the trends in the development of the IT and telecommunications industries, the latest achievements of science and their implementation in production. The platform brought together about 1,200 participants from 10 countries, these are scientists from foreign countries, representatives of telecommunications and IT companies, postgraduates and students.
