T8 COMPANY HAS UPGRADED THE REDUNDANT LINE FOR THE YAMAL RESOURCES IN THE FAR NORTH

T8 LLC together with Resources of Yamal State Governmental Agency completed work on expanding the backup backbone channel of Yamalo-Nenets regional interdepartmental telecommunication network along the Salekhard - Nadym - Pangody - Novy Urengoy - Purovsk - Gubkinsky - Noyabrsk route. The total bandwidth of the channels for the two starter complexes 2020 and 2021 amounted to 200 Gbps.

T8 specialists were tasked with continuing the 2020 project in terms of upgrade the second optical communication line with a total length of more than 1,300 km in the Far North region. The network is implemented on Volga telecommunication equipment with high bandwidth. Volga DWDM platform is a Russian-made wavelength division multiplexing system for building high-speed optical fiber communication lines.

In addition to the geographical conditions, the team managed to overcome the technical peculiarities of the optical infrastructure. The communication line is built on one optical fiber, the maximum distance between the control points reached 166 km. This is an excellent indicator in the telecommunications industry.

After completion of work on the network infrastructure’s upgrade, Resources of Yamal can provide high-speed fault-tolerant services for the needs of the government of the Autonomous Okrug, state and municipal authorities. The organized trunk channels will be used to deliver video camera traffic to the Regional Data Center, to operate the electronic document management system, to exchange data from the unified medical information system and other services located in the regional data center.

The work performed on the redundant backbone line made it possible to build a fault-tolerant backbone network with points of presence in the largest settlements of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.
