EXPANSION OF THE BACKBONE CHANNEL IN THE FAR NORTH

Resources of Yamal State Governmental Agency jointly with T8 company completed the expansion of the main backbone channel of Yamal regional interdepartmental telecommunication network on the route Salekhard - Aksarka - Nadym - Pangody - Novy Urengoy - Korotchaevo - Limbyakha - Purovsk - Gubkinsky - Khanymey - Noyabrsk - Muravlenko.

T8 specialists were tasked with modernization an optical communication line with a total length of more than 1,300 km in the Far North. The network is implemented on telecommunication equipment "Volga" with high bandwidth. Volga DWDM platform is a Russian-made wavelength division multiplexing system for organizing high-speed optical fiber communication lines. In addition to geographical conditions, the team managed to overcome the technical features of the optical infrastructure. The communication line is built on one optical fiber, the maximum distance between the control points reached 190 km. This is an excellent indicator in the telecommunications industry.

After completion of work on the modernization of the network infrastructure, Resources of Yamal can provide high-speed fault-tolerant services for the needs of the government of the Autonomous Okrug, state and municipal authorities. The organized backbone channels will be used to deliver video camera traffic to the Regional Data Processing Center, to operate an electronic document management system, and to exchange data from a unified medical information system. The increase in the bandwidth of the channels will ensure the reliability and availability of regional and municipal services for the population, and increase of the performance of sites will be 100 times greater.

Resources of Yamal State Governmental Agency is the operator of the Regional Interdepartmental Telecommunication Network of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, which meets the needs of state and local authorities of the Autonomous Okrug in information interaction. Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug Yamal regional interdepartmental telecommunication network joins the networks of state authorities, local self-government bodies of the Autonomous Okrug, in order to provide them with the possibility of inter-network exchange of information, as well as ensuring the possibility of creating joint information systems operating in the Yamal and, if necessary, outside of it.
