«Sibirtelecom» builds DWDM network

In the late of December, Sibirtelecom launches the transport backbone optical network (DWDM) in Omsk into commercial service. Similar networks were built on the basis of equipment type “PUSK-M” produced by “T8”, will be launched in Novosibirsk and Novokuznetsk later this year.

The project to build DWDM network in Omsk was realized during 2009. The transport network will connect 8 urban nodes into optic “ring”. Each of them will be organized by the data rate 10 Gb with a possibility of increasing the speed parameters of up to 40 Gb. Ensuring a high degree of protection by “ring” at the level of DWDM will provide uninterrupted communication services to subscribers.

“Equipment “PUSK-M” doesn’t recede to foreign analogues for quality indicators and available technical support and competent advices create favorable conditions, – said the acting director of the Omsk branch of JSC” Sibirtelecom Maxim Kudryavtsev – in addition, investments are in the development of our own telecommunications sector rather than go abroad. About 60% of the operated equipments OJSC “Sibirtelecom” made in Russia are in Omsk region today. In 2010 we plan to continue modernization mainly due to Russian equipment type, having spent over 150 million rubles for its purchase.

Company “T8” is largest Russian professional supplier of integrated DWDM-solutions based on Russian equipment type. This company has successfully realized the following DWDM projects: Moscow, Leningrad, Novgorod, Pskov, Arkhangelsk, Kaliningrad and Murmansk regions, Republic of Komi.
